Campfire Pottery is a collaboration by the Camps, a husband and wife ceramic design team centered around creating a collection of ceramic heirlooms designed to inspire the art of entertaining . Kristen and Joe’s ethos is to create contemporary ceramic designs that bring people together, inside and outdoors. Campfire is not only their name, but a visual representation of their roots and brand identity. A campfire is the oldest act of human-gathering. It also symbolizes the outdoor environment where their Raku (Japanese-style ceramic process) is executed. Their goal is to share their love of traveling, cooking, and entertaining through their collection of high-end, handmade ceramics.
Founder Story Kristen and Joe, co-founders of Campfire Pottery started their business in 2015 when they collaborated with a local flower farmer to create vessels for their Mother's Day flowers. Kristen and Joe took the money from that first order and used it to build their first Farmer's Market booth where they began selling their pottery at a local farmer's market in Portland, Maine. Their business quickly grew to selling at Pop-Up Shops in Anthropologie and local coffee shops. They now have a retail shop in the Black Box community which is new concept space inside shipping containers on Washington Avenue in Portland. They share their shop with friend, Tanja Cesh who owns MULXIPLY. She designs jewelry and accessories that are all handmade in Nepal by teams of artisans. Their shop is a beautiful blend of handcrafted gifts and home goods that are full of soul and carry a story.
