GoodSteps

GoodSteps sells high quality leather and water resistant flip flops that are made in Brazil and we donate ~20% of the purchase price of every product sold to fight hunger via our two giving partners: Atlanta Community Food Bank and MANA Nutrition. When we donate money to MANA, they are able to provide nutritional meal packets to severely malnourished children. A severely malnourished child needs 3 nutritional packets a day for 42-56 days to be considered fully nourished. Thus far, we have provided 10,860 days worth of nutrition, or enough packets to fully nourish more than 194 children back to health. When we donate money to ACFB, they are able to provide full meals to food insecure families, children and seniors throughout North Georgia. As of November 2021, we have provided over 90,728 meals.

Founder Story
Alice is a recovering corporate attorney here in Atlanta. While she thoroughly enjoyed the work she did for financial institutions, when she started a family, Alice realized that she wanted more control over how and where she spent her time. For her, that meant jumping from the big law firm life into the white space of entrepreneurship and social enterprises. Alice has always loved the concept of companies that give back and actively sought them out as a consumer, but she felt moved to focus her work time creating something GOOD – a company whose sole reason for existing is to give back. Alice chose to make flip flops because everyone has a pair (or ten, in her case): why not make a really good, high-quality version and give people the power to do what they were already doing – buying flip flops – but do so ON PURPOSE? Our customers actively do good by choosing GoodSteps, and by directing where their specific give will be directed.
