OME Gear is a 20 year story in the making. Jules' parents invented the concept of a 2-in-1 transformer beach cart/chair in 1998. They patented it and tried to take it to market but ran out of money and know-how, so it sat on the shelf for 12 years. Fast forward to 2010, Jules was working for a large global consulting firm and needed something to call her own. So she called up her Dad and asked if she could try her hand at taking his invention to market. Through tears, he said "that would be a dream come true". In that moment, Jules knew she had her focus.

The last 10 years have brought multiple iterations, a number of innovation awards, a failed partnership, resignation from her own company, lots of tears and healing, and the beginning of a new company, OME Gear, co-founded by Jules and her wife, Stacey Pierce.

Our flagship product is The Wanderr. It's an innovative 5-in-1 durable transformer product that easily converts from a cart, to a low chair, a high chair, a fully reclinable lounger, and a camping cot. We were tired of junk chairs, carts, and wagons that would just have to be thrown away after a season or two, and decided to build something that would last. Our mission is help people "Do It In Nature".

Founder Story

Jules and Stacey reside in the lovely Charleston, SC. Their backgrounds - Jules, from an entrepreneurial family and a career in business consulting, and Stacey, in the healthcare field and business start-up world - have made for the perfect combination to start OME Gear. They love long walks on the beach...no really :), good food, fun cocktails, helping people find and use their voice, and building genuine relationships with others. Their goal with OME Gear is to encourage people to get outside more.
