Christine Reed is the author of Alone in Wonderland, a memoir about thru-hiking the Wonderland Trail around Mt Rainier, AND the balancing of asserting her independence and finding connection in the world. Rugged Outdoors Woman LLC encourages the sharing of our adventure and personal stories, and encouraging women to get outdoors solo and experience the power of crafting your own experience in nature.
Founder Story Christine found her path in life when she found the power of the outdoors. In her mid-20s she left a job in insurance to hike the Appalachian Trail, and as they say "the rest is history." This move not only changed her life, but changed how she saw herself in the world. In the years since, she has made it part of her mission to encourage other women to find independence and self-knowledge through the outdoors. As well as the strength to connect and inspire by telling our stories.
