Freeland Spirits

Freeland Spirits is a proudly woman-owned craft distillery based in Portland, Oregon. Inspired by founder Jill Kuehler’s grandmother, “Meemaw” Freeland, who taught her that all good things come from scratch and that a woman can be any damn thing she wants, Freeland honors that spirit of independence in every bottle.

Freeland Spirits celebrates the Northwest by crafting premium gin, bourbon, and other small-batch spirits with an emphasis on quality ingredients and thoughtful sourcing. The flagship gin combines copper pot and vacuum distillation to highlight bright, fresh botanicals like cucumber, rosemary, and mint alongside classic juniper. The bourbon brings together a traditional mash bill with Pacific Northwest character, finished in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels for depth and complexity.

As one of the few woman-founded distilleries in the country, Freeland Spirits champions creativity, craftsmanship, and community. Our guiding belief (and Oregon’s state motto!), “She Flies With Her Own Wings,” honors independence and inspires others to lead boldly in their craft and beyond.
