Vermont Sticky
Vermont Sticky is an organic maple syrup company based in Crested Butte, Colorado. Sticky's founder, Krista Powers, is a third-generation maple syrup producer. Her grandfather started making 100% maple syrup in northern Vermont in the 1950s. As a child, Krista helped her family tap trees and gather sap. Today, Krista calls the Elk Mountains of Colorado home, where she spends her time mountain biking, skiing and sharing her love of maple syrup with friends. In addition to syrup, Vermont Sticky hosts a variety of maple products: maple hot chocolate, maple tree hydration mix and maple sugar. She encourages her customers to get creative with syrup--try substituting it for sugar or use it to fuel a long day in the mountains!
I grew up in the small town of Lowell in Northeast Vermont. As a third-generation maple syrup producer, I've combined my family tradition and deep knowledge to start a maple business of my own with a unique twist: Vermont Sticky.
As a child, I'd help my family tap trees and make delicious organic maple syrup each spring. The tradition started with my grandfather in the 1950s and continues today with my father who now runs the family business. After college, I moved out West to pursue a life in the mountains. Now, I call the mountain paradise of Crested Butte, Colorado home. Yet, each spring, I continue my migration back east where I spend time "sugaring" and harvesting maple syrup and sugar with my family.
With family support, I started Vermont Sticky to bring organic maple syrup to my small town in Colorado. I dare my customers to try Vermont Sticky on something other than pancakes. I've developed a line of products derived from maple syrup aimed to fuel long mountain adventures or an alternative sweetener. With our maple sugar, I’ve created a hydration drink mix along with maple hot cocoa. My products are created with simple and transparent ingredients, creating a healthy alternative to fuel or satisfy a sweet craving.
