Terri grew up splitting her time between California and the foothills of North Carolina. After traveling the world with her husband and children, she decided to settle in Western North Carolina and has been calling the area home for over 25 years. Since settling in the foothills she has been very involved in the local communities and has run several small businesses in the area that showcased local crafts and products all while continuing her day job in procurement. In 2018 she and her husband Ryan wanted to share their love of the Carolinas in a way that only locals could, transporting people to the places they loved; Van in Black was born. A few years later, they became interested in wine and the wine agriculture of North Carolina. They decided that they wanted to share this new interest with others, their sister company Asheville Wine Tours which specializes in wine tours in the foothills of North Carolina came to be. Now they offer anything from airport shuttles to elevated wine tours and everything in between.
