Founder Story A pioneer in women-led manufacturing, Barbara retired from her career marketing rock and roll albums to help with the family business, and took over as company President in 1990. She introduced designer fabrics with a woman's insight into home decor fashions, used her knowledge of sewing and construction to draft new patterns, and established thriving relationships with department stores and mail order catalogs. With 11 women executives, managers, supervisors and team leaders, Barnett remains a women-led business to this day.
