Founder Story Kristin gets her kicks from breaking the laws of design + reimagining the infinite possibilities of athletic aesthetics. An athlete and graphic designer with a keen eye for color, Kristin has made her mark by translating her vision to coveted endurance apparel.
Embarking on her design career as a lead footwear designer for L.A. Gear in the early 90s, Kristin stepped out on her own 6 years later to pursue freelance opportunities. Working closely with an elite roster that included No Fear, AVIA, K-Swiss, World Triathlon Corporation, Zoot Sports, Competitor Publishing, Triathlete Magazine, Kestrel bicycles and rykä. A continued evolution in sport + fashion led her to co-create Her Sports + Fitness magazine, and eventually, Betty Designs.
Founding her wildly successful endurance brand in 2010, Betty Designs has become synonymous with playful patterns, bold wordplay, original collaborations with top endurance brands, elite athletes and celebrities, and altered the trajectory of women’s triathlon + cycling apparel. The result is a cult following of loyal customers + brand ambassadors know as the BettySquad who jump at the change to grab the latest kit drop.
A seriously proud mother, wife, designer and athlete, after 30 years in Southern California, Kristin moved to Park City, keeping fit and inspiring women of all ages to continue to challenge themselves. Not one for sitting still, you can typically find her getting busy on the bike and hustling on two feet, while throwing in ski + surf + gym sessions whenever she gets the chance. A huge follower of fashion, she loves chatting all things streetwear with her son and creating captive imagery together with her husband and photographer, Matt. Outside of crafting the look of the brand together, they also share a passion for fitness + art + beautiful photography.
Geeking out on the latest happening in runway couture while staying on top of endurance culture, Kristin is obsessed with developing the look and feel of Betty Designs to create a modern brand embedded with a hefty dose of badassery.
Whether you vibe with Kristin or not, she is unapologetically herself and will never look back down on her beliefs, skip out on a challenge, or make excuses. It is her greatest wish to empower others to feel + perform their best by wearing something they love.
