Choucas Hats began when founder, Mona, inspired by a climbing trip in the Dolomites, created hats named after the playful and resourceful Alpine Chough, aka Choucas. Designed for activities like skiing, climbing, and biking, the brand's hats prioritize functionality, lightweight performance and vibrant designs. After a decade of fun, including winning the Polartec® Apex Award, Mona retired. In late 2022, Choucas Hats was relocated to Alpena, Michigan under the care of current owner and operator, Maren Winter. Maren combines her love for outdoors, the apparel industry, and her creative ways to continue the Choucas brand. The brand focuses on delivering high-quality performance headwear while continuing to learn and expand.
