Eleven as One is a football business, making kit designed specifically for women. We’re making sure everyone playing women’s football, no matter their skill level or location, can easily find football kits designed just for them. We aim to promote gender equality and empower female footballers by offering high quality kit that prioritises fit, comfort, performance and style
Growing up in the 1980s, Julia is part of a generation of women who were denied access to playing football. At school she was firmly told the game wasn’t for her, and it took years to build up the confidence to finally step over the sidelines. She only started playing football last year at 53 years old - although she played a lot of netball in the meantime!
Although things have moved on, and football is now on the curriculum for most schools, many aspects of the grassroots game haven’t kept pace with progress at the elite level. One of the biggest gaps is access to properly designed women’s kit. Too often, women and girls are left choosing between ill-fitting men’s or boys’ options.
While there are still many barriers preventing women and girls from playing, the one Julia is choosing to tackle is kit: making sure women have clothing that fits, feels good, and helps them feel they belong in the game. That’s the gap Eleven as One aims to fill.
