In Greek, the words Eu-Genia (you-geh-knee-ah) mean the origin of goodness, which says it all about the woman for whom the brand was named (the mother of this mother/daughter team). Founded by Naa-Sakle Akuete and named after her mom, Eugenia. Eu’Genia Shea provides consumers with clean moisturizers from tree to shelf. Using Eugenia’s experience as President of the Global Shea Alliance, each tin is specially formulated and filled with a sustainably sourced blend of all-natural ingredients.

Number one is always shea butter, followed by four other plant-based ingredients: shea oil, grapefruit or lavender essential oils, moringa oil, and baobab oil. This makes it highly efficient for daily moisturizing as well as reducing the appearance of scarring, eczema, psoriasis, and stretch marks.

Founder Story

Founding my own company wasn’t the path I had in mind while I was in school, but shea butter has always been in my blood - our family's connection started with my Grandma Sunshine who used it in her midwifery practice in colonial-era Ghana where shea is known as Women’s Gold. When my mom was diagnosed with stage iv cancer and meningitis, I decided life was too short to not spend our days together. We're using her past experience as the President of the Global Shea Alliance to provide consumers with the best shea around.

This family-run social enterprise dedicated to all premium raw shea butter moisturizers was built to connect my life with my mother in a more intimate way as well as to provide me with an opportunity to give back to a country that means a lot to me.
