Inspiro Tequila

Inspiro Tequila is an ultra-premium 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila that is gluten-free and additive-free and has zero sugar and zero carbs. Inspiro Tequila is proudly distilled, owned and led by women. It was founded by Mara Smith, a former attorney in Chicago, who started drinking tequila when she was looking for a clean, gluten-free spirit that fit into her active lifestyle. Inspiro Tequila was born with a vision to redefine what it means to enjoy tequila, by crafting a clean, smooth and sippable 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila without any additives. The goal was not just to create a one-of-a-kind tequila, but also to bring a female perspective to a male-dominated industry by having women involved in every step of the process.

Founder Story
Mara began her legal career at a large law firm in Chicago before joining the corporate strategy team at a Fortune 500 Company. After her twins were born prematurely, Mara decided to leave the corporate world to focus on her family.

She never stopped thinking about what was next. In 2020 Mara followed her passion – and her dream of starting her own company – to create a new tequila brand.

Why tequila? Long her spirit of choice, for years Mara had searched for a tequila that fit into her healthier lifestyle, one that was gluten-free and additive-free, with a look, taste, and aroma that appealed to her. That perfect tequila simply did not exist, so she decided to create one. Ultra-premium Inspiro Tequila was born with a vision to redefine what it means to enjoy tequila, but equally important to Mara was the opportunity to create a spirit brand crafted and led by women (in a typically male-dominated industry).

As a female founder, her mission is to give back to other women who are following their own passion. This was the inspiration and vision behind the Inspiro Purple Bicycle Project, created to financially support and mentor female founders, enabling them to get their businesses started, manage the bumps along the way, and move forward to follow their dreams.
