Powers Provisions is an online storefront created by Gretchen Powers (@gpowersfilm) and her wife Kaleigh Wood (@kalesthecook). When Kaleigh left to join the Coast Guard in July of 2017, Gretchen dove into a film project she had been dreaming of for months and one after another passion projects (unfunded, joy-fueled trips/stories), followed.

Her goal was always to seek places where she pushed the boundaries of her comfort zone in order to find peace and happiness and capture the essence of the location, first with photographs and videos and second with yarn and beads.

Powers Provisions sells prints and postcards of images created on these trips, as well as knitted hats and beaded accessories inspired by the steely blues and bright whites from the Matanuska Glacier, rusts and golds from the desert of Utah, and autumnal earthy shades from mountains in Maine. Believing in community over competition Gretchen has also chosen to highlight her talented friends on the site by collaborating on joint artistic ventures from jewelry and pottery to postcards and stickers. Alongside these goods, Kaleigh shares her favorite recipes of her classic south meets the last frontier cuisine, cooking tips, and regaling you with tales of their Alaskan adventures on the blog.
