rabbit
We created rabbit because we wanted something better. We both are lifelong runners and so we’ve tried all the running apparel out there, but we never found anything we loved. With athletic apparel everywhere you look, it’s hard to believe that no one had perfected the running short, but that’s exactly how it felt to us. Some things were too complicated, others too fussy, and plenty were downright ugly. Even worse, none seemed to really consider the distinct activity of running and the legitimate and specific needs of the runner.
We thought about this problem for quite a while and finally we decided that we were going to solve it ourselves. We started to think about what exactly it was that we wanted from our running clothes. And we asked dozens of runners to sit down for interviews so we could learn what exactly they wanted from their running clothes and see if they were feeling the same things we were. We chalked up all of the pros and cons of every garment we could get our hands on. And, after all that, we believed that we could make something better.
Monica has been in the running business for 20 years, and she’s owned a running store for 13 years, so we weren’t exactly starting from scratch. We already had a pretty good idea what customers like and what they don’t. rabbit is the result of Monica’s experience and Jill’s unabashed perfectionism, and we really believe it is the best running apparel you can find anywhere.
Jill likes to go fast. She likes to run fast, talk fast, and she even thinks fast. Just like Monica, Jill is a lifelong runner. She was a high school track and field athlete, and valedictorian of her class, we might add. Jill went on to run Division I Cross Country in undergrad before turning her attention to law school where she graduated Order of the Coif from McGeorge School of Law. As an active attorney, Jill brings her legal skills and knowledge to rabbit. Jill is also actively involved with the local community and in her spare time she coaches athletes from the weekend warrior to the Olympic hopeful, and she has also been invited to be the feature speaker for various youth organizations. Jill is also a mother of two, a son and a daughter, with her husband Gene. And Jill's running resume is just as impressive! She has a marathon PR of 2:48 and a half marathon PR of 1:20. She has dabbled in multi-sport events and in 2015 was the Duathlon Long Course Age-Group National Champion. And in 2017, she was the overall female winner in both the Carlsbad Marathon and the Mountains to Beach Marathon! From the 1500m to the marathon, look for Jill at the front of the pack.
