Founder Story As a young girl, Theresa could always be found drawing, painting or working on various craft projects. This continued through elementary and high school, and eventually culminated in art school, which led to a career in advertising as a production artist. Making jewelry became a side-hustle after she fell in love with stones. When the economy took a turn in 2008, she was included in a wave of cuts at the agency, which left her with more time to make jewelry. She began taking classes from master jewelers across the country, honing her skills. Today she runs her one-woman business, River and Birch, where she works to limit her impact on the earth while making beautiful, wearable everyday jewelry.
