Fostering self-confidence through brave outdoor adventures. We are a female-oriented summer camp and adventure travel business that travels around Maine and beyond. Backpacking, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Self Care, and just getting outside are the things we love to do.
Founder Story When I was 12 my parents sent me to the Outdoor Adventure Program at a camp I had attended for most of my childhood. It was hiking on the Appalachian Trail and Rafting. I ended up getting blisters on my feet the size of quarters but thanks to a great counselor I persevered and was taken care of very well. This same counselor went on the next year to become a Marine and I was told a story the next year that the memory of my blisters got him through his blisters at boot camp. I remember thinking “Wow, if I was hurting and could do that what would happen if I was whole.” That led me to being a camp counselor, winter backpacking in AK, learning to raft in AK, mountain biking in ID, exploring National Parks by myself while I was in college, section hiking the AT. The Great Outdoors gave me the confidence to be brave and focus on what I’ve wanted in life no matter what others may say. She Summits Co was founded until an incredible night sky with the sound of cicadas in the Appalachian Mountains and the vision of supporting the state that we live in with more women falling in love with the out of doors.
