Founder Story
After her friend was tragically killed in bike accident, long-time cyclist Gloria Hwang was inspired to create a helmet that riders wanted to wear. After recognizing that nearly all helmet options were bulky, difficult to transport and "sci-fi" looking, Gloria decided to provide riders with fashion-focused option, seamlessly merging safety and style. In 2016, she quit her job, designed a vintage-inspired helmet, began a Kickstarter campaign and started to build Thousand with a goal to save 1,000 lives annually. Today, Gloria remains the founder of the urban mobility brand that continues to focus on providing sustainable, accessible safety accessories to riders of all sorts.
